About Us

Chris Thornhill

I started fishing when i was 5 years old (in 1974) and to begin with it was sea fishing in my fathers boat off the coast of North Wales, mainly Angelsey.
We spent most of our summer holidays in the caravan that was parked in a farmers field at Rhoscolyn and Treadur Bay.
They were the days when sea fish were in abundance in the Irish sea and we caught lots of Mackerel, Cod, Pollock, Whiting, Red Gurnard, Dogfish, Skate, Rays and Tope (small sharks), just to name a few.
Sadly the trawlers have made sure that we could not repeat that kind of catch anymore.

Dutton Flashes - Where it all started

It wasn't’t until 1982 that I started carp fishing with standard float and ledgering tackle.I fished mainly in my home town of Runcorn, Cheshire. England.

Dutton Flashes was my favorite venue as there was plenty of action on sweetcorn and luncheon meat, boilies had not been invented at this time. But we did make our own baits back then out of dog food and custard powder. It caught carp and that’s what matters.

 Oh my god what's happened?

1988 saw me trundle off for a 7 year stint in the British Army which put my carp fishing on hold. However we were sent around the globe to some exotic destination and I always managed to squeeze in some time to sample the fishing. Belize, Canada and Kenya were great places to fish and I caught a lot of weird and wonderful species.

I returned to civilian life In 1995 and landed in Chatham, Kent, where I set about resuming my carp fishing.
I was going carp fishing quite regular now and began to build up my arsenal of equipment.
My carp fishing was soon deemed “anti-social” by certain people and I was forced to move to London.
I contniued my love of carp fishing in London, but it seemed quite dangerous to walk around with so much expensive tackle. It was very risky indeed.

In SWEDEN carp fishing is a challenge, its as simple as that, there are no muddy carp puddles with extortionate prices here. Its a beautiful country with undoubtedly some of the best fishing in the world.

This site is dedicated to my fishing in Sweden, have a look and see for your self…………………

……IT’S A FISHING PARADISE!!!!!!

Jeanette Rehm

Jeanette was born in 1968 in Sweden, she has 2 kids, Patrik born 1990 and Fredrik born 1992.

She lives in Partille with her 2 boys and has lived here for 25 years.

Before she came to Partille she lived in Jonsered.

There are 6 children in her family, a younger sister, 1 older brother and 3 younger brothers.

She didn't know anything about carpfishing before she met this "crazy" Englishman called Chris, in November 04.

First time she went carpfishing was in January 05 at Ballasjön, during a major storm.

Since then she has been to Härlanda Tjärn and fished for carp there aswell.

She is going to be fishing more lakes to try to get that first carp. But they are a secret at the moment ;)

Jeanette says:

This "Carpthing" is something i really enjoy very much, now i'm

only waiting to catch that BIG fat carp....

They say once you start carp fishing you just can't stop, now my apartment smells of sweeeeeeeet Scopex ;) (and Chris's dirty socks)...........

My relatives do not understand the concept of Catch & release, and think taking photographs of a fish and returning it, after i have waited months for it, is utter madness.

I told them "it's a Carp Thing, you wouldn't understand" , i was right and they will never understand :)

Chris says that a part of carp fishing for newcomers is to make him breakfast in bed for 12 months while we are out fishing, but i think he is telling a little white lie ;)
