Diary : Evening Carp Fishing

Thursday 28th April 2005 - Härlanda Tjärn

By Magnus Bergström

It was Thursday  evening. I had decided to go for a evening session up in Härlanda after work.

I was at the swim about five oclock.

About one hour later I  had my three rods out. I threw out some boilies around each rod.

Then it was time for some coffee, tastes great out in the nature.

I went over to talk to Mille (Emil Hjertberg), a friend who had the swim right beside me when we stood there having a conversation his alarm started to play some good old music.

I helped him land a nice carp at 11,6kg. The first Carp of the season up in Härlanda.

After that I walked over to my swim again, to have another cup of coffee and some good snus.

I started to look at my boilies that a have in my bag. And when I had my nose down in one of

the boilie pot my Delkims started to play that nice music that I want to hear.

I turned around and saw that it was my right rod.

The fish was taking  a lot of line, I took up the rod and started to bend in to the fish. It felt great to stand there having a nice fish on the hook

It felt like a nice fish. The fish was fighting fairly good.

Now my team mate Chris and his girlfriend Jeanette had arrived, and came running with the camera in his hand and his girlfriend was running with the unhookingmat.

We were landing the fish, a nice Mirror Carp and put it on the unhookingmat. Now it was time to see the weight of this fish.

The fish weighed 10500g. It’s a new PB in Härlanda for me.

It’s now time for the photo session. A lot of photos were taken (Chris took 73 photographs!!!), the first carp of the year for me.

The fish was taking on a Energybait Scopex Squid & Liver 16mm Popup.

After the photo session I returned the carp to his home again. I fished two hours after that but it was calm out in the water and I was fairly satisfied.

It started to get late and I had to go working the day after so I packed my gear

together and went home with a big smile on my face. Do I need to say that I slept like a baby that night.

I have to thank Mille for landing the fish and Chris for the nice photos, and also Jeanette for running so fast with the unhookingmat.
