WELCOME BACK TO SCREAMING DELKIMS
As you probably notice we have changed address to www.screamingdelkims.com
This is not through choice, but neccessity!!
An advertising company has taken our old address without my knowledge and now that old address (www.screamingdelkims.se) has nothing to do with us whatsoever.
Don't log on to it!!!!
Also all the email addresses have now changed to .com aswell.
On a lighter note............... unfortnatley all the lakes are frozen solid here in Sweden so it will be quite a while until we start our Carp fishing season 2009.
However i will try and get some new stuff up while the ice is still here. So watch this space.

New World Record Carp 40.188kg - Rainbow Lake
Graham Slaughter shows off his record-breaking carp catch — the first in the world to weigh more than 40 kilos.
It took him 20 minutes to land the mirror carp, which tipped the scales at a whopping 40.188kg (88lbs 6oz). Graham, 42, of Worksop, Notts, England, said: “To be first to break the elusive 40kg mark is a great feeling.”
Celebrating pals then dunked him in the lake in Bordeaux, France

Jeanette gets PB Bream
We fished 5 days in Delsjön without a carp but we were plagued by bream.
Well what do you expect after prebaiting with 25kg of maize and 15kg boilies.
Unfortunatly no carp were to be seen anywhere. I had a strong suspicion that it was spawning time on the other side of the lake and they were far too busy to eat any of our baits.
Such is life or to put it bluntly.... Shit happens!!!
However Jeanette did get a new PB Bream at 2.2kg on a 20mm Energy baits Carribean Dream pop up

Vimmerbymässan 2007 plus new leads
Its nearly time for Vimmerbymässan once again (last weekend in March) and this year we will be doing a Lead making and coating demonstration.
We will show you how we make our leads from the pieces of scrap lead to the finished coated product. We will be doing 2 or 3 demos during both Saturday and Sunday so you should get to see our demo even if you come late to the mässan.
We have also a new style of lead that has been an instant hit with people who have seen them.
They are our new Disc Leads which have excellent bolt rig properties due to thier central mass. They are ideal for hard bottomed lakes, sloping banks and also great for holding bottom in running water.
They come in various sizes from 60g to 100g and all our range of coloured coatings including total stealth sand. See photo below

Left: Total Stealth Sand Coated Disc Leads.
Right: Plastic coated Disc Leads in Sandstone (top), Camo Sand (middle) & Speckled Brown (bottom)
Please note: The sand coated leads do darken in colour when they become wet
All our leads come with either Brass (left) or Stainless Steel (right) loops and a dull finished quality bear swivel. Our swivels will fit all the lead clips available on the market.
Prices (Swedish Kronor) for these leads are:
12:- each for 60g - 85g
15:- each for 85g - 100g

Chub Fishing - My first fish of 2007.
Although carp fishing is out of the question as most lakes are frozen solid, myself and Jeanette decided to drive the 100km from Göteborg to Skara to fish river Lidan/Flian in search of Chub & Ide (Färna & Id).
I have fished there once before with a guy called Martin Sethman and we caught a lot of fish to 2700g.
Unfortunatley i have tried on several occasions to find the places we fished that time, but to no avail.
We arrived at Lidan at 09.30 this morning (24th february 2007)to find that 99 percent of the river was frozen over. After driving around for a while (1 hour) we found a couple of stretches of the river that were free from ice. We had no other choice but to fish in these places, and i wasn't very confident in catching anything.
After several hours the quiver tip had not moved apart from the freezing wind that blew it around occasionally. We fished a simple running ledger rig with bread flake as this is what caught all the fish on that first trip (in March 2002).
We continually moved up and down the open parts of the river chucking the lead into any possible chub holding areas, but it was looking to be another dissapointing day. Nevertheless we were out fishing and enjoying ourselves, so catching any fish would be a bonus. I found a small ice free part of the river which was pretty slow moving and looked a good holding area for Chub. I cast out the bread flake and sat behind a tree. 2 minutes later the quiver tip quickly bent round and returned to its original position. At first i thought my eyes were decieving me, but it moved again and i new it was a bite. I struck into the fish and felt the weight of the fish as it bent my 12ft Shakesphere quiver to 90 degrees and headed off downstream. The fish was soon in the landing net and my frozen face cracked with a smile.
A nice little Chub of 1.3kg became my first fish of 2007 and we didn't drive 250km for a fishless session. We fished the same area for another 90 minutes but it seemed that it was going to be the only fish of the day. Unfortunatley Jeanette never caught her first Chub or Id, but im sure we will be back again in the future for some more winter fishing.
If Martin Sethman from Uddevalla ever reads this, send me a mail please mate and let me know where we were when we caught all those Chub & Id. I have spent about 5 hours going up and down that river/s looking for the swims we fished. Cheers mate.
Hopefully in the near future we can do a bit of ice fishing for Pike, but first i will have to persuade some friends to lend me some ice fishing gear and probably show me how its done. A friend Niklas Karlsson was ice fishing for pike last week in one of his many "Secret Waters" and along with a friend of his, Henrik, they caught over 20 pike to 9.4kg.
We also found out that Sävelången, Lerum is not frozen over at all, and is accessable to boats and bank fishing, maybe that is worth a pike fishing trip before the carp fishing season begins.

Danskens massive carp and new PB
Stephan is now back from Rainbow lake in the south of France with some excellent results.
February is not the warmest of months even in the south of France. Stephan was fishing in freezing conditions upto minus 8 degrees. However he managed to fool 2 massive mirror carp:
30.1kg &
22kg
Both of the carp fell to Energy Baits Magic Fruit boilies fished snowman style with a 10oz Big Grippa lead and size 6 Korda Longshank hook
Here are the photos of the 2 Mirrors.
(click on the pics to enlarge)

Well Done mate!!!
Livet lekar :-)

12 Volt Battery driven Boilie Gun
Check this out!! For those of you who roll your own boilies, Jula.se now sell a 12 volt battery driven boilie gun. It costs 499kr (about 40 pounds)
This should make life a hell of a lot easier in the kitchen, especially if your roll a lot of baits.
I will buy one of these, test it and write a small article here on www.screamingdelkims.se
I do know that this is the same size as the Gardner boilie guns so all the parts, nozzles etc do fit these guns.

Frozen Lakes
Yesterday (03/02/2007) we went for a walk and to check out Delsjön. Unfortunatly it was still frozen, so we couldn't put in any baits. However the hotdogs were warm and so was the coffee.
We put some baits out on the ice and they were soon snaffled by the local wildlife, much to the amuzement of the kids.
Härlanda is also still frozen so it looks like a few weeks until it melts. That is of course, if no more cold weather moves in.

Planning the season 2007
Well it seems that the scientists are right, and once again it seems that the so called polititians are doing nothing about it. Well, there are no PROFITS in it for the fat cats so it probably doesn't interest them.
Thats my view on Global Warming and due to this is why we will all be starting our carp fishing season early this year.
Normally here in Gothenburg (Sweden) the lakes are frozen solid now and minus degrees at this time of year. But this year there is no ice and it's plus degrees.
So our carp fishing will start early this year with some light prebaiting and we are going to be concentrating on Delsjön in Gothenburg.
We have had a lot of info from someone who fished a lot there last year and had some good results. So it now appears that what i classed as "hard Delsjön" is producing a lot of carp if you put the time and effort in. So that is exactly what we are going to do!!
We are going to put in the time and effort in and hopefully get some results.
Our approach (and reults) will be on the new DVD that we are going to making this year so you can see exactly what we are doing and you will see what results are achieved from a little extra effort.
Not only will this season be on the DVD but also (of course) published here on the website.
So watch this space for our full frontal attack of Delsjön this year.

LIVE Underwater Carp Fishing Demonstration
on a Big Screen
With the aid of our wireless underwater cameras and big screen TV's we will demonstrate what goes on below the surface. This is the part of carp fishing that you never get to see if fishing at distance! Sit back and watch what happens to rigs, PVA and other methods of carping when it hits the water.
It is a "LIVE" demo (and possibly a wet one too) & will be projected on to a big screen TV so you can see close up from different camera angles at the same time what is actually happening down in Mr Carps world when your rig hits the deck...................... and sometimes things may not appear what they seem.
So........... Don't miss it, learn what we have learned from our underwater reasearch and we thought the best way to do that was to go

New PB Pike for Chris We were sat in the Bivvy on the bankside of Sävelången in Lerum. Due to the weather we couldnt go out in the boat and fish for pike as we had intended (We = Myself & Jeanette). Eventually on Sunday afternoon (06/11/2005) after hours and hours of tieing pike traces etc we decided to face the elements. We trolled 2 rods, one on the downrigger and one in the surface area. We were fishing in 105ft (33 meters) according to my fishfinder (Humminbird DX200) and there were plenty of fish appearing on the screen.
After about 20 minutes the surface rod started to scream as the line was being pulled off the spool. I felt the fish and suddenly the horrendous weather didn't matter any more. After a short fight (but a welcome one) i had her up at the surface and i got my first glimpse. It was my new PB without a doubt and instantly the world became a much better place.
After a couple of acrobatic tailwalks and a last lunge for freedom, my new PB was safe and sound in the net.
The scales went round to 7500g which was 2kg more than my previous best.
The ceremonial happy snaps were taken and she was sent on her way. Not too bad for the only 2 hours fishing we got out of the weekend. Not even the English Summer weather could have disheartened me after that.

Jeanette Wins The Screaming Delkims Cup
Jeanette Rehm has now gone and won the The Screaming Delkims Cup with a stunning 80 points and 2 Personal Bests. She would have had more points if she hadn't lost carp in Balla, Henrikstorp and 4 in Härlanda Tjärn. Jeanette caught a total of 6 carp with one coming from the ultra hard Delsjön.
An 18 point margin separated her and Colin who could only manage Second Place despite his Big Henrikstorp Haul back in July. He also claimed a New PB & 5 extra points.
Chris Came 3rd with 56 points after his Landskamp 8kg carp in October didn't count! So no points for the Danish carp.(Carp MUST be caught in Sweden). He dropped a lot of points as he was the only one not to recieve the extra points for a personal best Carp. He lost quite a few carp this year and has blanked the whole season in Härlanda Tjärn. His worst season on record!
Coming in joint 4th place with 44 points each are Andreas "The Kid" Andersson & Peter "Pågan Pete" Lenander. Andreas pulled a new PB out of Sämsjön and Peter grabbed 10 extra points for 2 New PB's from Ballasjön
Diver Mats & Fredrik "Fidde" Rehm came joint last without breaking ground zero, but it surely wans't through the lack of trying.
Fredrik sat over 500 hours behind his rods this season but was awarded the nickname "Braxmannen" (The Bream Man) for his ability to catch Bream even though he was after Carp.
Mats was also anticipating his first carp and some consolation points but it never came. He lost 2 carp in Härlanda in the dreaded lilly pads and a screamer in Delsjön.

NEW Härlanda Tjärn Carp Record
Bohlin has done it again!
Janne Bohlin has once again broken the carp record in Härlanda Tjärn, only a few weeks (23rd June) after he put his name on the the big Linear at 14900g. He has caught the big linear again and this time she tops the scales at 15350g. Janne from Kungälv also holds the Härlanda Common carp record of 11900g. He is a well known figure in Swedish carp fishing and has numerous "Massive Carp" to his name from around the world. A truly excellent carp fisherman with a history to prove it. He is voted as Swedens No.1 carp fisherman by www.screamingdelkims.se

Härlanda Tjärn Common Carp
At 08:30hrs on Sunday 25th September 2005 Anders Ritchermo & his girlsfriend Helene
from Norrköping & Jeanette and myself were sound asleep in our bivvies at Härlanda Tjärn with our 3 pods perched on the rocky outcrop of "The Big Hällen" swim. We were all woken very shortly after by the screeching tone of one of Anders's Fox Micron M's that also bellowed out in stereo from the sounder box.
6 seconds later Anders was battleing with his first Härlanda carp but minus his shoes. After a short but great fight she showed herself and i saw it was a big common. I lifted the landing net after Anders guided
the big bar of gold in. Gottcha!!!
Anders stuck his head into the landing net and shouted "Its your fish"!! (meaning the 11400g common that i caught in August 2004, which became the new common carp record at the time.) I could see my record being beaten and i was right. The beautiful common took the scales round to 11520g and Anders became the new Härlanda Tjärn common Carp record holder. After a quick photo session she was released and we named the Big Härlanda common "Peanuts". Why? All will become clear when you read the full report that will be coming soon.
This time she fell to a 20mm Frank Warwick Strawberry ice cream pop up over a small PVA bag of trout pellets at short range.
Note: It has since been discovered that this common carp is not the new Lake Record common. Janne Bohlin has caught one earlier this year at 11.9kg and this stands as the new record weight and not 11520g as i had thought. My apologies to Janne & Anders for missing that one
Chris

Daniel Svalsjö was fishing on "Hällen" also at the weekend and landed a 5.9kg Mirror Carp at 01:45hrs on Sunday morning but lost another just a couple of meters from the net on Sunday afternoon.

| Carp Lost in Delsjön |
28/05/05 |
I have just returned from Delsjön in Gbg on a social visit/Bar-b-cue. At 21.30hrs Niklas Karlsson had a screaming take but lost it when his hanger clip wouldn't pull free from the line on the strike.
He wasn't very happy to say the least but a consolation keepnet full of Bream may ease the pain. The run came on a Starbaits Scopex bottom bait.

| Jeanette's 3 Balla Carp |
23/05/05 |

23/05/05 |
Magnus has another evening at Härlanda Tjärn and catches another carp 7000g.
Onsdag 18/5-05
